If the berry bush is depleted, do more beries ever come back in?

I haven't had mine completely depleted before but I have noticed that the berry count slowly increases.

I've noticed that when I get new crops the Berry bush gets some new berries on it.

A "random island event" repolinated my berry bush for absolutly no reason, so if you're lucky then yeah. But I don't even rely on the thing anymore, now that I can fish.

Thanks, and I noticed that as I was going around looking for mushrooms to multi-pick, I saw more berries on my berry bush.

I had to start over also at 1 time. I don't know if this is a spoil, but the second time I began I did it without help. I put 1 on the berries, 1 building and 2 on science so I had very soon the points for level 2 of the farming part. From that moment I started with breeding. I playing with difficulty 'normal' and when there is almost a food crisis I pause my game when I don't have time to keep an eye on them.

Dont get too happy with breeding til you have Fishing, children and nursing moms eat as much as any other villager and they do not work.

Crops are on a seasonal cycle, it does not matter how fast you gather crops, they will not come up any faster or slower. If you only have 2 people gathering crops at the start - they will contunue to gather crops and when they are done you will have 30 mins or less til next crop. But if you put the entire village to gather crops, you may look and see you have 80-100 mins til the next crops. I find they tend to not starve if you gather the crops more slowly.

(Hint: watch when crops are being gathered, when you see that you have less than a few dozen left, watch closely, as soon as it goes to 9 crops left, throw everyone in the village at the crops to gather, you will get 7 for each person who collects crops regardless of how many are left)

Thanks for the hint!
My villagers are already fishing! And that helps a lot.
