I have the reverse problem.....lol. I am maxed out in all tech areas, my population is at max, food is at 187340, and tech points are at 242230. I can not seem to get my elderly to die. so far I have 2 elders and they are in there 80's. My other villagers only lived to about their 60's. I need a couple to die on me so I can try for my GC and finish my first game.....lol.... I wish there was a way to knock off the old people. Oh and BTW my youngest villager in in his 20's, so I have no one to pick shrooms......lol.

my oldest villager so far was 90... and btw if you check the statistics on the puzzles screen it will tell you the age of the oldest villager you've had so need to keep track

My oldest villager at this point was 92. I have the same problem as many of you though with not being able to keep many alive past 76 or 79 years old.

I had a big spike in the life expectancy of my villagers. They were dying in their 70s, but then suddenly they were living into their 90s. One lived to 97. Another to 94. A dozen lived to be 90 to 92. Then a couple died at 87. Ever since, the max has been 81, with the exception of two who lived to 85.

So it sure seems like there was some EVENT that temporarily boosted the maximum age of my villagers. The GC's awakening of the Magic Tree of Life? That would be the obvious answer. But why is the effect only temporary?

I've attempted some experiments to see if there's anything that the villagers have to DO to live longer. Or, more likely, is there something I need to MAKE them do? Like, as some have suggested, making them eat from the MTL. So I've tried that, along with other things, but of course it will take some time to learn the results of these experiments.

Off the topic, my village has frustrating population bubbles. There are big gaps in the ages of the villagers. My elderly have all died off and now my oldest villagers are 55. Meanwhile, my youngest child is 4. Because my village is at the maximum population, no more children will be born until someone dies. Which obviously won't be for another 20+ years. And by then, my youngest villager (excluding the GC) will be in their mid 20s. So the oldest villagers will die in a massive die-off, and that will be followed by an equally massive influx of babies. And this cycle will repeat and repeat and repeat. So I personally think it would be nice if villagers didn't rush to replace the dead with babies. When left to breed on their own, perhaps the villagers could just naturally space out their offspring? Just a thought.

How long are women allowed to have babies in the game? I am working on my first game and have 2 women in their 40's and 50's and one 20 year old. The rest of my girls are young kids now.

thanks

Jelli

women are always allowed to have babies, their age doesn't matter... but if they die while they are nursing then the baby also dies

I only showed my villagers how to eat the magical fruit and thought they would start doing it on their own, but just realized yesterday that they never eat it voluntarily. I guess it is mushrooms for the elderly. Anyway, I have started making them eat it every time I check in. I know only a few times doesn't make any difference, so I am starting at different ages and giving certain villagers special attention to see if age improves.

Does dunking the elderly and the new moms help them?
