the upgrades that everyone is talking about do you have to down load them or does LDW upload them to the system and they take effect whether you want them or not?

LDW does not automatically install updates to games. To get them, you must download the update from the same site where you originally purchased the game, since the registration codes from each site are not interchangeable, and installing another site's version will cause your game to become unregistered. Download the trial version and install it in the same location where you have the game already installed.
