your Villagers can survive without food for a little while - you say you got 2 kids? start Mushroom hunting if you run out of food before u hav enuf points - you can pause the game using the space bar - mushrooms will still show up even on pause and you can put yer kids all on the same mushroom so they can pick it more than once - takes patience I know - I have a village that didnt have farming either and I only had 3 villagers left - one was a child - it just takes patience and persistence

But like Sunshine said - get that Farming Level first you need that..
