I can't get any of my villagers to water the field...*the special one* i put them there and fort a brief second it says watering the field.. but then poofs to doing nothing

Try putting any type of builder on the field and keep dropping them there till they start watering the field. Usually, if you have a builder there, they will continue watering the field, but if you have farmer, scientist, etc, they will water it once and then leave it alone.
