does anyone know if there is a way to stop the villagers from having babies all the time? I leave them for a few hours while I'm at work any when I come back I have 3 or 4 females pregnant or just finished with their nursing. No one is set for breeding. They are making it hard to keep up with food. Any help is greatly needed. Thank you.

Try checking research box or building or even farming so it will give them something to do. don't leave there skill unchecked.

Bootsi, it does not matter if breeding is their selected skill, if they had been taught how to breed (are any skill for that matter) they will do it from time to time. The best way to manage your population is to only train the females. If you train your male villagers, well they keep breeding until all the 18 and older girls are nursing.

In one of my villages, I noticed that there were only a couple of young children in a village of 31. So I clicked preferences on a breeder guy, and went to read the forums for a minute. Got a wee bit too involved in the forums (including the Too many babies post - lol). Just checked a few minutes ago, after a couple of hours in the forums, and the population had grown to 55. There were 17 nursing women, one with twins. Didn't realize I had that many women close to breeding age...lol. Oops.
