This is happening with both of my LDW games (Fish Tycoon as well as Virtual Village)...even though I'm online, the game can't seem to connect to update statistics. Anyone else having this problem?

I think it depends on the number of hits the server is taking. Sometimes my stats update in a matter of a few seconds, other times a lot longer. Yesterday it took over a few mins. So you just have to be paticent, and let it sit for a bit.

And, of course, if you're running the game in full-screen mode and attempt to update stats, you may run into problems if you're running a firewall. You may not notice that the firewall has popped up a message, and is waiting for you to respond. That can make it appear that the game is frozen.

Good point Barb. I did have to tell my firewall it was ok to send and receive info to that domain. If it does "lockup", I would first look at your firewall settings.

Thats so true with the firewall. I had to "set" mine to except VV to go online. Well Hubby did it for me LOL. He's the tech/proggie in the family since that is he daily job. Anyway even after that it will sometimes freeze up then at times it just takes a sec or 2. So I just walk away, get a glass of soda or something and by the time I get back, its done. Sometimes it does depend on how busy the server is.

no problems with Firewall, no full-screen, music and sound off. In early part of game, updated quickly with no problem. Now it freezes the game and I have to end non-responsive program. Not a big deal to me.

Well I would suggest just waiting it out. As I said, the server has really been getting hammered as of late, and it can take several mins to update. In all my testing it has never locked up during an update. So if you have something to do, hit the update button and come back to it and see if it was successful.
