I give up!!! I have started 6 different villages and every time I get to a certain level ev1 dies off. I guess I'm just toooo impatient for this. I think I will go back to the fish business lol.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh dont give up yet. Just try it again.....and take your time and think about what needs to be done first to sustain life....worry about the puzzles last.

I agree with the above post; Don't give up! You may want to try using the tutorial, when it asks 'Do you want HELP the first time?' click yes even though you have played before. Also remember that villagers need to have enough food stored or they will starve, so make sure that you have someone with 'farming' skill checked. That way your farmer will keep foraging for food while your computer is off. Keep most of your other adults researching at the beginning of the game so you can get those tech points. The earlier you can raise your tech level in farming the better your villagers will be able to collect/store food, and the berry bush will only last so long. Mushrooms help but obviously one cannot get them unless they are actively playing the game. Maybe you can give a little more info on how far your game gets before you lose all your little people so we can offer ideas(hopefully spoiler-free)

I woke up to a village of 32 dead people today. Odd -- I had plenty of food and plenty of everything for the whole bunch of them, and only two were children who weren't working. I even had a doctor (who died.)

The only ones left were one male and one female builder. I immediately renamed the two of them Adam and Eve, and poor Eve is nursing her third baby of the day while poor Adam has been switching between farming and research. The first two kidlets were boys, so they got named Cain and Abel. I may go through the whole Biblical geneology this way...

First things first -- make sure they have food and you have research points and at least two builders for the hut you'll need before ANYONE gets purposely bred. I wouldn't even encourage breeding until you have an overstock of food.

HTH -- Hang in there. It'll work.

If that ever happens again, Ella, you can check the game log to determine exactly why they died. The file is called ldwLog.txt and is located in the Virtual Villagers folder. The game log is overwritten each time you launch the game, though, so it has to be viewed immediately after you quit the game.

You can also slow down or pause it overnight so you have more control. Thats what I had to do cause I had the same problem.

Yeah. I found that before I got fishing, I had to pause it overnight while I was asleep. Otherwise, they just ran out of food. And once they got fishing, I just slowed it down to half speed so that not too much would happen while I was gone.

if you're going to be away for hours, like overnight, the BEST thing is to pause the game if you're worried that the little guys might starve to death -

it gets tricky when you're trying to accumulate tech points so you can upgrade skills while avoiding having the food run out - for what it's worth, I've had one game now running for 270 hours after killing off about 3 or 4 villages and just abandoning a couple of games where one of the original settlers died overnight.

good luck!
