I have a strange situation. I came back to my game to an event notice - one of my villagers had found a vial of strange liquid. Now, I'm normally very cautious, but this time decided to see what would happen.

Well, what happened is that she felt better than she had in years, and went from being 47 years old to being 12... but the funny thing is that she was nursing twins at the time. So this poor kid was running around with two babies!

Now, she has continued to age normally from that point (she is now 16), but the babies haven't aged at all. She had 66 minutes left to nurse when this all started, and she still has 66 minutes left. I think she's becoming a little fed up with it (or at least I am). I'm hoping the nursing countdown will continue once she hits breeding age (18), but if not the poor girl will be stuck with two babies forever.

Moral of the story? Mothers need to be a bit more careful than others, especially when nursing. Art imitating life.

Jackie

Most of the Island Events have both "good" outcomes and "bad" outcomes. The one that causes a villager to become young again has an interesting side-effect that's described in this thread

Ok this is a slightly related question. Can they continue to have babies forever? I just had a 51 yr old give birth. Now in RL that isn't impossible but is unlikely. Have to admit my little villager still looks pretty good for her age.

They can continue to have babies until the day they die. And if they die while nursing, you will lose the baby as well.

Shame that happens. What we need is a "wet nurse" or "nanny" for times when the mother dies while nursing.

I had a builder who had a baby at the age of 69! AND she didn't go "indoors" with anyone. In fact, I monitered her closely so she wouldn't and she ended up in the village center with child anyway. (While I was focused on the bottom right of the village, she walked in from the upper left of the screen carrying a baby!) She died at the ripe old age of 73 (while the game was off), so I know the baby survived.

Whatever happened with this?
