I have noticed that the only villagers that pick the mushrooms are kids. Can't the adults pick them too??

Nope, only the kids can pick them.

I think the adults are "village idiots" (no offense meant) and they lose the ability to pick the dang things!! Wife thinks that adults are too busy making babies.

Nah --- the kids just arent as preoccupied with "trying to move boulder" -- that and their eyes are closer to the ground -- my elders move so slow I bet they all got cataracts too -
