I first want to say I LOVE this game! I played the demo until my time ran out and then logged in to buy it!
I became an Instant Addict! (Fish Tycoon did the same thing!)

Anyways, I have noticed that from time to time I'll get a mushroom that is red/white as opposed to the more common brown/white. It appears that when the kids harvest the red/white (magic) mushroom, they count a little higher in the food bin. Has anyone else noticed this?

Also, will the kids harvest the mushrooms on their own if the game is running unattended, or do you have to direct them to do it everytime?

Yes, brown mushrooms will give you 8 in the food bin, whereas red/orange will get you 45.

And no, they will not pick the mushrooms on their own. It is required that you find the mushrooms and the kiddies.

Although the kids needing to be told what to do and how to do it is what I was afraid of...LOL...I guess that is just another feature of the game that mimics real life. My kids won't do anything unless I stand right over em!

I was wondering myself when I saw their first red one mushroom. Was really worried it was like amanita and they'd eat it and all hallucinate or at least get sick. But they would have maybe danced more... lol

Just a little tip if you are struggling for food. You can get more than one kid to pick mushrooms . They just need to grab it at about the same time.
