Just wonder if anybody out there would name the babies... I tend to name them with the first syllable of the parents... e.g. Kids of Yahto and Raha = Yahra
Kind of pointless but sometimes you see the sibilings trying to breed... quite disgusting

In my new game I'm doing a variation on that. Remember the episode of Star Trek Next Gen when Dr. Pulaski said that each woman should have 3 babies with 3 husbands? That's what I'm doing with my villagers! I named the 6 adults Dick & Jane, Bob & Carol, Ted & Alice. The first baby was named by the game - I just stuck DJ in front to indicate the parents - Carol is now carrying her 2nd child (this one by Ted). I'm going to try and avoid inbreeding this group of villagers - as if it really matters to the outcome! Just another way to challenge myself I guess.

Have Fun!

About this naming babies business. How does one do that? I'm quite new to this, and I'd LOVE to do it b/c the game keeps naming and putting the same heads on everyone. Problematic, though being a red-head, I like that many/most of one my villages are now carrot-tops.

However, I've color-coded their dress in order to keep track of their jobs (great idea from another thread here) and I REALLY need a few less same-names.

Lastly, when four of the women are nursing, unless I happen to be there, I have no idea who came from whom. Can you name the baby BEFORE they've finished nursing?

THANKS! -- Ella

i do a variation of dar and som.

i give each kid a four-letter last name, made from the first syllable of the mother and the first syllable of the guy.

and each man and each woman has a child, to keep it even.

oh, and ella: you can name kids in the detail screen. click on the name and then type when the cursor blinks. and if you've opened the school, you can get a clue to whose kid is whose by comparing the skills level of each kid to the skills level of each mom.

THANKS! I just opened a third village b/c my second is SO stupid. (It took them over two days with four researchers to come up with 3000 points -- they'll be dead soon enough I figure...) Anyway, so this one came with three men and three women and one girl, and I'm using this sceme.

I paired them off in tasks: one man and one woman to each.

Researchers: Oxygen and Hydrogen
(The kid was one of those "problem kids" so she is now called Nucleus)
Farmers: Corn and Wheat
Builders happened to come with a female pre-named "Soda" so her coworker is "Pop."

Then I'll figure out how to combine if I'm there to see the breeding, which I sometimes miss completely. My first village, with only level one of breeding, made 5 babies while I was out for an afternoon!!!! I was afraid to buy level two.

I can't wait to get the school opened. I trashed my first game, which was doing so well, just because I'm stupid and didn't realize I could have more than one at a time...duh!!!!!

Thanks again -- Ella
