If you've already bought all your tech, then you'll have to force villagers to do research at the table -- that's the only way to get a master scientist.

Best way to do this, I think, is to scan your villagers using the detail screen to find the one with the highest research skill. Check the skill, then switch back to the game and put them at the table...and keep doing that if they leave until they're a master.

You'll find that just like with real children sometimes it takes multiple tries for the villagers to learn a skill - and it may be harder for the older ones - just like in real life - amazing how that works isn't it!

Unfortunately the school doesn't actually DO anything except solve one of the puzzles - there are a number of users who suggested having the kids actually taught in a future version of the game.

Just keep trying - you'll get there eventually.

Wow, yeah, it's certainly a "willing participant" thing. I had one Researcher that was originally intended to be a Breeder, but seemed to enjoy being at the research table more (women *huff*). So I just let her be set to Research and she wound up being the first Master all without coaxing.

I'd recommend trying to find one of the villagers that goes back to the table regardless of what you have them set to.

I'm trying to make all my ppl do things, I will happily make a doctor or scientist build or clear things away if thats what I want, but man, some are stubborn! I even called one guy "stubbs" because he refused to do it, but I figure that they should all be able to multitask incase one of my "master's" dies... is this sensible or should I just let them all become good at one thing?

I tend to let them get a little experience in at least one other thing too... and seems to help them when their energy levels drop to switch to something else temporarily. Also sometimes you just need more people on a project

I take them to research the magic plants, then retun them to the table.

I try to get each of mine to about 3/4 of their primary role, then start mixing'n'matching to what I may need at the time. This way when they decide to abandon whatever else I've assigned them to try, they usually go back to what they're already good at... that way there's no 500 "Shaking Head" wasted efforts.

... and I eventually put my Elderlies to the research table (Arts'n'Crafts time, folks!) because they walk so slowing that it's not worth having them do anything that requires trips.

I've play the game for 6 hours and I've two characters that are already "Adept Scientist". Does anyone know how much time (in hours, if is possible) do I need to become a "Master Scientist"?

Once you've got all your tech levels, they stop researching... so the only way now is to keep dragging one back to the Research table... manual work for you now, I'm afraid.

Did all the stuff in 3-4 days but been waiting on a scientist for two weeks. Even killed off my population down to 10 and started over. ARGHHHHHHHHH!!!

The problem is once all the tech levels have been "purchased", the villagers have no incentive to research, so it will be very hard to get a master scientist at this point. The only way is a special event, or you will have to keep dragging a villager to the table to do research, which will take forever!

So in your next game I would suggest getting the school as soon as you get a master scientist.

whats happening????????? its taking foreeeeeeeeverr for my scientists to become masters...this is my third time staring a new game ( cuz they all died on the other two) and it never took so long for them to become masters!! I already have level 2 on farming and construction..al ready cleared puzzles 1,2,3 and 8...and I have them now celaring the blockage...I have 3 adept scientist (out of a population of 8) and they all improved in research several times....but none of them is a master!!!! what do I do???? do I have to start over?

If you only have Level 2 in Farming and Construction, then you have a looooong way to go before you are out of tech to buy...several hundred thousand research points. So don't worry, just don't start breeding your adept scientists until you get your master.
