I've been playing for over 100 hours now and I have Yet to have one of my villagers achieve "master builder" status. My population is currently 30 and three huts have been built. I say that building is unbalanced because there are (compared to science and farming) limited opportunities for advancement. Once the huts are completed, they can be "fixed" but I've already spent HOURS fixing them with my one and only builder. (I figured fewer builders might translate into faster advancement! --WRONG!)

I initially had 2 villagers focused on building but they got old, unhealthy and one of them died. I picked an 18 year old male (females don't make good builders because of breeding and taking 2 years off raising rug-rats) and nagged him to build the 3rd hut thinking that if he built the entire hut himself, he could reach Master level. I shut the program down (without pausing) and when I checked on them the next morning, the hut was built and my now 25 year old builder was still Adept. I'm now throwing him on huts at every opportunity to "fix", hoping that he will somehow reach Master level.

I don't know how this problem can be addressed. The scientists can research and the farmers can harvest/fish/forage ad infinitum but the builders are limited on opportunities. Maybe create a "station" where the villagers can do wood-working hobbies or something.

You have other opportunities to create master builders - two other structures will need to be built.. that gives ample opportunity - but I'd teach a couple of other villagers building skills as well. In fact, you won't even need to have one achieve master status until during the building of the second structure

That's all well and good. However, I have about a dozen Master Scientists and at least 5 Master Farmers. My point is that it is WAY easier to get Master's level researchers and farmers that it is builders. That indicates to me that there is an imbalance. If the game was created to be that way, that's one thing but if it was not then maybe it can be corrected in the next version/game.

I honestly don't agree it's an imbalance. Harvesting food is a perpetual necessity of the game.. that must go on all the time; you need tech levels for everything (including food and building capability) - hence equal (or more) emphasis has to be placed on researchers and getting them to master level fastest... while there are things to be built, these can be staggered...

I am having the same problem and its getting on my nerves because that one puzzle you need a master builder

From what I saw in another post you made, you haven't completed at least one structure which would most likely give you the master builder you need.
