I was wondering once they hit elderly, how long do they usually live after that? Does it differ villager to villager? My original islanders are becomming elderly at 58. I have medicine rank 2. I just want to know how long I have before they start.. *tear* disapearing?

My eldest villager, a Master Builder named Bunda, died at 66/67 (not sure if she had a birthday while I was in this forum). What I'd like to hear from the pros is - do women who bear lots of babies die younger than women who remain childless? Perhaps I'll test that out in my next game.

BTW, at 58 a villager can still get pregnant. FYI. (thank heavens at 50 I'm not very likely to!)

Thanks for the info! I guess that means I'll pause the game tonight so I don't wake up to.. remains. You sure do get attached to the little boogers don't you? Well, here's hoping to an island full of 100 year olds!

My eldest was 73. Most seem to make it to their late 70's. I'm only at level 2 medicine though.

I got to a point in my game (won't give away which puzzle had to be solved first) when I was told my villagers would start living longer. Waiting to see how true that is! I'm having a ball anyway - started a 2nd game where I'm controlling the breeding very carefully - had to restart when I woke up to all the villagers dead (again!). It's really heartbreaking - just wait till you have to bury your first one. Now the firstborn of the island "natives" is getting pretty decrepit - who me, addicted to this game? Nah!

10? Were they sick or starving? Or did they just die on you?

FYI now that my villagers are living longer, my oldest is 85! I did notice, though, that with population at the max of 90, it seems when babies are born the oldest die no matter what age they are. Strange form of population control eh?
