there's a patch of land just to the west of the research table that becomes a vegetable patch when you have the right combination of skills. keep bringing farmers to the spot until they get a crop going. I hope you've got the well uncovered and the creek unblocked cause they need the water for the crops, fyi.

There are a couple of inaccuracies in your post, Dar. The farm is south of the reearch table, and no puzzles are required to get it, only the second level of Farming Tech. They won't water the farm unless the well is uncovered, however, so the farmers will spend some time being frustrated.

It's a little late now, but the best thing to do is start researching immediately and make farming your first purchase. It's possible to make through with farming as your second purchase, but just barely.

Sorry, my villagers don't have a GPS! It's not DUE south of the table after all....lol.

Didn't realize they didn't need the lagoon for farming. I'll remember that for my next game.

And, if you're playing Virtual Villagers (as opposed to Village Sim for Palm), there's always the mushrooms, which have salvaged many a tense situation.

As your villagers gain experience in research, they will start to produce tech points much more quickly. Not that it helps you now, but (for any new games that you start) the key is to train researchers early in the game, so that they will produce the tech points that you need before the berry bush runs out. If you have children, they can pick mushrooms, and that food supply can keep your villagers alive.
