Some of my villagers have decided to build a new hut, but I reached the 25 population and I can't have any new babies until another hut is built! How do I build another hut?

Are you playing Village Sim for Palm or Virtual Villagers? The population limits are different. In the Palm version the limit is 25, and it's 30 for Virtual Villagers. In either case, the only way to get another hut is to have a trained builder (with that skill set as their preferred skill), since the villagers initiate housing starts themselves.

I actually know this one! Yippee! If you've got builders, find the spot in the village where there's a plank and a rock and when a builder stands there you get a message like "the villager could try building here". If you need to encourage building skills, take any villager to an existing hut and, eventually, they'll start "fixing the hut" which increases their building skills. Just keep at this until you've got a few people working on building a new hut - I think the building site is to the west of the research table & the school about halfway between them. (I just created a new player to see where the original huts were - I'm so codependent it's really sad!).

So how did I get my villagers to start construction on a plank and a rock? Even the farmers and scientists are working on it - the only master builder I had was nursing a baby!

Or are you saying that with a Master Builder available, the villagers will figure it out on their own? I must admit, it's terribly addictive having total control over these little people - there was a Twilight Zone (or its ilk) onetime suggesting that humanity was merely part of a grand cosmic game played by some superior alien species. That's kind of what this feels like...lol.

Hey, it would be cool if the game were online and we could visit each other's villages to help out - like if I had Master Builders and you had Master Farmers I could send you a Farmer and you could send me a Builder (or something like that).

SPOILER PM if you know how to get the girls... i need very few males so i can train one to a master parent and when im not looking he'll probably make a girl pregnant just keep on dropping a male on a female till they go indoors so the male gets slowly trained to a parent and he will make some babes

Using a male "master parent" to breed works really well later in the game, but you need to be careful when your village is small -- that villager will probably keep breeding even when you don't want him to, so your village may get bigger faster than you can feed it .

I usually use a couple of female "adept/master parents" early in the game, until I get enough food (a couple thousand) to keep the population happy...then the boys can have their fun .
