Just two villagers

Is it worth continuing with just one female and one male? This was my daughter's first attempt at the game. The next morning four of her villagers had died. We put them to work on food until it topped 1000, then moved to research but points are slow with just two working. When food, goes down we switch both to farming, then back to research. She has 1300 food, 3660 tech, level 2 farm & science and level 1 for everything else.
Is it worth going on or should I just have her start a new game (we were afraid to let it play through the night so paused it last night.)

I'd try and save it. I had a similar thing happen. Lost everyone but three males. Of course my only hope was a special event to a female, but I tried. So keep pluging away and let us know how it goes.

I enjoy playing VV the most when it is a crisis like that. I'd definitely continue, but for a small child it might be a little frustrating with only 2 villagers left and starting over might be a smoother ride.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think I may have saved it. I got the food way up (for two people that is) and the woman had moved to elderly so I went ahead and worked on increasing the population. Now we have 2 little girls and a boy - the first girl is gifted in research (although now I'm wondering if I should have chosen farming), and things seem to be running well with 640 food, 4870 tech, levels 2 in farming, medicine and science, and level 1 in construction, fertility and spirituality.
I am thinking to purchase the spirituality tech when I hit 5000 tech points. Maybe I'm just too sentimental, but I'd like the two surviving settlers to be remembered, not just decompose like the rest, especially since this is my young daughter's game.
--C (who is now toggling between three games - my first where rats killed most of the pop, including my healers, and the one that I started because I was sure these other two games were lost - it's doing quite well.)

I did, and she died today. I think that DD appreciated she could bury her amongst the beautiful flowers rather than view skeletons for such a long time. She got a kick out of the tombstone, too - never would have thought to click on them without this forum.
Just a few minutes ago a storm wiped out all the food. With the patriarch and the kids now 19, 16 and 14 I think they'll be okay - we'll just take everything else slow. Hers has been a much more challenging game, yet it is the only one set on easy.

You can probably breed your villagers with a much lower food count too. With a pop of over 20, as long as my food was over 300 the villagers would "go inside" - sometimes coming out with a baby, sometimes not.
As soon as your 16 year old hits 18, get her pregnant! It's funny cause they keep breeding into their 50's and 60's but have to be 18 to start. Let's hope our children follow that example eh?
Good luck. Would your daughter be fooled if you told her the computer crashed and you have to start her game over? (it's right up there with the tooth fairy, Santa Claus & the Easter Bunny in the "little white lies" department).

Rats? You did say rats? Boy oh boy for every hint I've gotten from this forum I've also gotten a scary preview of coming attractions. Tidal waves and rats and who knows what else!
Anything else I should be worrying about?

Well I almost cried when I turned on my computer one morning and found the original 6 had all died. If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all, as they say. (and if it weren't for my sense of humour I'd have no sense at all....lmao).
