Few questions...

So I set the Game Speed to 2x and exited the game, expecting it to go twice as fast and to get a good amount of tech points when I came back. So I'm away for 30 minutes and I come back, startup the game again, but I notice my tech points and food were right where they were when I left the game.

At the same time I was also clearing the rocks from the lagoon and it was at 2 percent. I expected it to get to at least 4 or 5 percent after 30 minutes of the game being off but it was still at 2 when I came back.

To see what would happen I kept the game running and everything went fine. I got more tech points and food and the lagoon work advanced.

Am I not waiting long enough or something or what?

Oh, and I didn't turn my computer off, I just exited the game (so I was just at my desktop).

Thanks.

Ok I looked around and found out that 2x speed doesn't affect Tech Points and stuff (I think...). But still that wouldn't explain why the tech points didn't advance at ALL or why the lagoon didnt go up in percentage.

Oh, and I actually did test around with my computer clock. It worked one time, made all my villagers Adept [whatevers] and finished building my hut (it was early on). I tried it again but it didn't work. Could that be what went wrong?

The only time we've seen that particular problem is when the system clock has been adjusted.

Yes and I saw that the crop patch was messed up like another post I saw in the forums. It was at like '35923 minutes until new crops' and the number of berries increased to like 1789 --dont know what that means or anything.

I'm going to start a second game while keeping the messed up one paused. The new one should be fine if I dont touch the clock, right?

I think that happened to me too, but I didn't mess with the clocks. But, when I switch villages I think the other village pauses and I don't know why.

Are you inadvertently pressing the space bar? The space bar toggles pause mode on and off.

I'm new with this game. Are you talking about the system clock for my pc or for the game? If it is the one for the game, where is it? The only setting I modified was the villager names and the 2x which doesn't seem to be working for me either. Thank you.

There is no "clock" in the game. All of LDW's real-time games use the computer's system clock to determine what happens in the game. What you are referring to is the game speed setting, which adjusts the rate at which time passes in the game. The games (not to mention any other applications running on your computer) can also be totally messed up by changing your computer's system clock.
