I see no difference in speed between normal and 2x The villagers walk the same speed and do things the same rate it seems.

Take a look at things that cost time to evolve; crops, buildings. Click on it to see the time that has to elapse before it's finished. Fool around with the gamespeed settings to let these figures run faster or slower.

One of the interesting things about Virtual Villagers/Village Sim is that what happens when the game is actually running can be very different from what happens when the game is off. When it's off, the game state is updated at game launch, and game speed becomes an important factor. When it's left running, game speed has little or no effect on the villagers' work. They do their jobs and produce tech points, food, etc. at whatever rate their movements allow. During that time, the game speed affects only calculated values, such as nursing babies, aging, and (to a degree) food consumption.

i'm glad you explained that, because i've noticed that the only things affected by game speed while i'm running the game are the things you mentioned. i've read people on this board saying that building and tech points can go faster on 2x speed, but i've never found that to be true. so thanks for posting that.
