one lovely day a stranger in a boat appears on the island asking for seeds and berries. i opted not to give him any, and he sneezed a nasty, disease ridden sneeze in the face of my villagers making more than half of them sick....what a jerk!!!


anyone else had this event? how about the spiders in the crate, or the book that made one of my villagers disappear, or the growling in the cave that made a child never be heard from again??

When it comes to Island Events, you need to choose wisely!

the stranger in the boat was my very first island event. i chose not to give him any food either...oops. fortunately i only had a few villagers at the time, so it wasn't difficult to make them all well again.

i had one book that made one of my villagers into a Master Doctor. and nearly every time i get something in a crate, it turns out to be deadly spiders, rats, or something else that makes my villagers sick or weakened. but i always choose to open it anyway.

the event where the little kid saw something in a cave, went in to explore and was never heard from again just broke my heart.

I chose to let him have some samples or whatever and got a level of medicine.

I had an event about a DREAM of growling in a cave... I chose to look at the gold and nothing happened.

I usually choose to open or not open the crate based on the description. Rotted seems to mean rats, weathered means +tech but sick villagers, watertight means a new kid or three...

I had an event with a red potion on the ground. I had the villager drink it and although it said 'he felt different' nothing seemed to happen. He looked the same and stayed apparently the same age. He was a child at the time though.

Oh, I got an event that broke my heart because I'm a softy. I found a struggling moth and chose to help it. That made it weak and it fell into the sea... what would happen if I chose the other option?

If you leave the moth, it's good... you get a villager more savvy in one of the skills. That's a sneaky one cos you'd be inclined to help it... as for the stranger, isn't there a moral there somewhere? about sharing whatever little you have? lol

I have never gotten that one before.How long did you play virtual villagers to get that? I have gotten the monkey that was eating my food and I told it to scare it away and it weakened my youngest farmer he was 13 and he didn't get well again till 19

I've gotten that one three times. But keep in mind I've played 30 or so games. Keep playing, you'll get it sooner or later.

There's an island event about a kid getting lost in the cave??? Never saw that one! Hmm, weren't there fresh berries left in the cave? Coincedence?
