Couple questions, overnight, logs and ages.

I got the trial version of the game yesterday and bought it this morning, but I've got a couple of questions.
When I went to bed last night I had two people on research, one building, one foraging and one caring for a baby. When I got up this morning, my two research ones were sick but still researching, the berry bush was foraged out, the child was four and the hut was built. But, the tech points were exactly the same. Does anyone know why the tech points didn't increase overnight? I've had the game running in the background all day because I'm worried about not getting tech points if it's off and losing more before I can get enough points for medicine (I lost the two sick ones, I healed them, but they were weakened and never got better with no food).
I've seen people talking about logs tellling when people get injured and such. I've got one weakened but not sick, and I'd like to figure out what's happened to him since he's not old. So where is the log? (Windows)
Oh yeah, I wanted to ask about ages too <grin>. I know they can start working at 14, but when can they start having babies (since I only have one adult female at the moment)and how long do they live?

i can help with a couple of things.
the log file is inside the folder that you installed VV to. the file is called "ldwlog."
females can start having babies at age 18. how long they live mainly depends on what level of medicine you have. if i remember correctly, with the first level of medicine they live till about age 60, give or take a few years (someone correct me if i'm wrong here). they live about 10 more years for each level of medicine you have, generally speaking.
as far as the tech points not increasing, i have no idea. i have 4 different games going, and i've found that if i leave one running but switch to another, the villagers on the first one won't collect any food. i've woken up to them severely weakened or dead from lack of food, even though there's plenty of food available for harvesting/foraging. i have to put the others on pause and only run one game at a time.

I do believe sunshower is correct with the age questions but I can't understand why both of you are having issues with the whole "real time" thing. It shouldn't matter how many games you have on the go, they should all keep working while you're not watching. It's something I've never seen. I do know that villagers are much less prductive when they are weak or sick but I don't believe they become totally unproductive. Hmm, you stumped me again!

Now all of my guys are weakening and I can't figure out why. I got medicine up, but that doesn't seem to be helping, and since they're not sick, healing doesn't work <pout>.

Have you retrieved some food for them yet? All medicine will do in increase the age when they become old. They won't have "enough" food until there is about 400 or more food in the bin.
Right now, the most important thing is to probably get them food and don't forget, if you have some little ones, they can help out with picking mushrooms.

I've been keeping it around two hundred, that always seemed enough since I've only got six. Increasing that to four hundred shouldn't be a problem though. (Wish I'd known that about the medicine before I'd spent the points though <grin>) Thanks, hope it helps.

I got it! To keep Anoki from dying and Chepi from getting worse, I need to make them stop researching! Especially Anoki, since it seems that he gets hurt researching at least twice as much as anyone else ^_^

lol, how do you get hurt from researching anyways? At least you figured it out. But for future reference, food will be part of the issue. Even if you had one villager they would be worried about the food if it was less than about 3 or 4 hundred. Lots of food helps villagers strengthen. Researching? What, they spill acid on themselves or something? Building I can see, same with farming (those berry bush branches are sharp!), I can even see getting pricked by the cactus but they don't do anything when they "research"....
