Ok so here is my questions, are they supposed to weaken before they die, or will they just up and "die" without any weakening or anything. I mean it makes no sense to just up and die without even growing weak. If they are healthy they are hardly close to death. Anyhow here is what is happening to me that i have been curious about.

This is right from the log...

Thu Jul 27 21:29:54 2006: Vanui died of old age.
Thu Jul 27 21:29:54 2006: Waka died of old age.
Thu Jul 27 21:29:54 2006: Mika died of old age.
Thu Jul 27 21:29:54 2006: Dulu died of old age.
Thu Jul 27 21:29:54 2006: Biko died of old age.
Thu Jul 27 21:29:54 2006: Penyo died of old age.
Thu Jul 27 21:29:54 2006: Chika died of old age.
Thu Jul 27 21:29:54 2006: Kissa died of old age.
Thu Jul 27 21:29:54 2006: Mazi died of old age.

None of these people were weakened and they all died of old age supposedly.

Hmm, curious VIllage Monk.

I'll have to look closer at my logs because of never noticed the description of how they died.

You'd think if they were all healthy, they'd keep living!
Don't have and answer for you.

Monk,

From the looks of the timestamps in that log, they all died as you opened the game. I would have assumed that, in this case, the game is calculating age based on how long it has been closed, and won't bother "weakening" them before it kills them off.

no actually i was already in the game, watching them and they all died at exactly the same second without being weakened or anything. I was actually checking their ages, and conditions each hour (year) that passed to see because i was suspsecting they werent getting weakened. To be honest i havent seen a weakened player at all since i started looking at this when i suspected it. They just simply fall over dead.

I see weakened elderly villagers all the time in my games. I'm curious...have you ever adjusted your system clock while playing the game?

I havent adjusted the clock at all except in beta 1 to try and finish before 2 came out. Shy of that, never and my system time is correct. Its weird i was actually watching the screen, a "tick" occured, and 6 dead corpses showed up on he ground to which they began burying the dead. None of them were weakened at all, full red bars, and i grabbed the log this time of the occurence and pasted what it said. Weird huh...

I just checked and all my villagers appear to be dying early 70's regardless of profession. My last 11 tombstones are all age 73 and now my graveyard is full so i cant see any more. But my oldest villlager is still only 86. This game has been completed for 4 or 5 days now.
