Hi everyone,

I'm playing FT on a Mac (OS 10.3.9) and i can't use more than 2 players. Every time i try to add a third player, i can't save it, or it gets erased whenever i'm turning the tank into a screen saver. The game then shows the first or second player's fish tank.

Is there a way to fix this???

What happens if you create the additional player(s) and exit the game? Typically savegame files aren't created until the first autosave (usually 30 minutes) or you exit the game. Going into screensaver mode before the game has been saved might somehow be causing a problem.

If I quit the game, the 3rd player disappear.
I tried several times to create a 3rd player and play for at least half an hour, but then if I switch to my 1rst or 2nd player and try to go back to the 3rd one, I can't even select it on the list! I try to click on it, but nothing happens; the selection switches from the firts player to the second player, and vice versa.

And if I quit, the next time I play, the 3rd player doesn't appear anymore.

Is there something I can do??

Have you made any changes to your system that would alter where the savegame files are stored? Try searching your system for FishTycoon*.ldw. You should have two of those files for every active player. If any of them are being stored in a different place, Fish Tycoon won't find them.

Uh... are u sure I should find theses files on my MAC? Because the only file I found that MAYBE would contain my saved games is fishtycoon.sol, found in my preferences folder.

I searched for "FishTycoon" with and without caps, ".ldw", "FishTycoon.ldw" everywhere on my computer, and found nothing...

When did you download the game, and from which site?

On all of my Macs (with versions of the game prior to a few days ago), the savegame files (FishTycoon1.ldw etc.) are located in the Fish Tycoon folder that was created when I uncompressed the game's download file (letting Mac OS X do its default "thing"). If you performed different steps when downloading and installing the game, then it would be difficult for me to know how you have things set up on your Mac. The savegame files must be somewhere on your Mac, or none of your player slots would work.

Once you find where they are, we will have a clue as to how to proceed.

Finally I found it didn't work because i used to play the game directly from the disk image, i didn't copy the game out of it, on my hard disk.
Now that I copied the game out of the disk image, everything's fine

Gee, i try to keep track of all the combinations i make, it's hard work!

I wasn't able to add a 3rd player either. I have mac as well. How did you do it?

You need to uncompress the downloaded file into its own Fish Tycoon folder.

Hey! How do you manage to even PLAY Fish Tycoon? For mine, the icon just bounces in the dock and disappears...I'm using version 10.2, I think.
