Has anyone figured out how much each villager eats? or how old children are when they can start breeding or working? Or how many Tech Points a villager can make per minute (hour etc).

A "table" of numbers would be very helpful

Only thing I figured out is the age of the kids. 14 to start working, 18 to start breeding.

As for the other facts, no clue. Admittedly, never though to try to figure it out.

When my villagers were on the edge of starving every time the harvest finally came, I figures out just by watching the clock and the numbers that my 15 villagers ate between 20 and 30 food units every 3 minutes, and that's when almost all of them were doing research. Think they might eat less doing that than doing the manual labor of building or farming. Just watch your numbers for a while and you can figure out a good average.

My researchers gain about 50 points each every five minutes, but I'm pretty sure that depends on their skill level. I also know that it takes about 5 rocks or sticks to gain a percentage point in building a hut, and 5 rocks to clear a percentage point of the blockage.

I haven't had the patience to try and figure out the beach or the garden because there's no counter.

I feel so OCD.

That is true, but there's nothing for me to click obsessively while I watch. Short attention span.

On a couple of my games it doesn't indicate what percentage of the blockage has been cleared. It should at least be 1% now! Is this something others have noticed?

I thought I had that problem on one game and then all of a sudden the indicator appeared. I believe it just takes a number of trips before it registers.

Could be wrong though, but I haven't heard of a glitch on that puzzle yet.

The indicator should appear as soon as it is cleared .01%. And I think one trip will clear it something more then .01%, so maybe the villager was not successful the first time? Do you think that could be it? And as SaxyT said, no glitches were ever reported on that during testing that I can remember.

That's what I thought at first Warren but I've always noticed them being unsuccessful right away (before ever picking up a boulder) not once they walk away with the boulder so I wasn't sure if that was the problem.

It's a brain tickler!!

Did they get interrupted after they picked up a boulder? If they don't complete the task, I don't think they'll get "credit".

Kiddies cannot really be "taught". They can however be born with some skill in any of the areas. The actual skills, and the amount of skills they are born with are dependent on a couple of issues.

1. What skills and the amount of skills the parents have, and;
2. The amount of skill is increased if you have converted the schoolhouse.

Does that help?

When you tap the drum, yes all the kid's will "goto school", but doing this will not increase any of their skills.

You will also find times when master walk around "teaching" other villagers but it's a personality quirk, it doesn't actually have any effect. It's similar to the villagers talking or arguing or telling jokes. Just fun to watch.

"Teaching" is one of the odd behaviors villagers might do when they are not working, like exercising, relaxing, chatting, and telling a joke. I think I've seen kids "go to school" on their own as well.

But, as Warren said, this has no effect on the villagers' skills. Kids don't advance their skills and adults do it only through working, except through special events.

How do you know how old children are? It seems one of my poor female villagers has been caring for her baby forever (Okay it's only been like a day in my world but I have a short attention span as well.)! How long does it take for children to grow up?

Check the detail screen for that villager -- nursing moms will have a timer that shows how much nursing time they have left. The babies nurse until they are 2 years old, I believe.

Did your villager happen to drink any strange liquids? There's a known issue with pregnant moms who suddenly get much younger due to an island event -- they will nurse until they reach the age they were when they drank the liquid, which can be quite a long time.

She didn't drink anything strange but she's been stuck on having 51 minutes left of nursing for awhile. Maybe she drank the strange liquid when I wasn't looking! It's a village conspiracy!

Certain berries will do that, too. You have to be careful what you let your villagers consume - some of that stuff has lasting effects!
