All of a sudden I have children who are now apprentices. Aprrentice Farmer or Apprentice Builder etc; Some of them are as young as 6. I wasn't aware that this could happen, or what it actually means. I have been playing for almost 300 hours and have created well over 200 babies and am only just seeing this now.
Any help?

Well stranger things have happened IRL. In some remote village in India (or is it Sri Lanka, I forget) there is a 7-year-old, who assisted in his first operation aged 3 and performed his first (under supervision) aged 5. He has since been allowed to operate unsupervised. The operations were quite simple (I believe it was something like separating the toes of a girl with webbed feet), but nevertheless... He is, I believe, currently researching at the University of New Delhi.

Shill,

Is it possible that you only recently founded the school? The school allows you children to be born with varying levels of knowledge, many will be apprentences until they're 14.

Hmm, stupmed me then... sorry!

It seemed as soon a built the school and new pregnancies, the child were apprenteces.

Of course, that was if I selected the kill for them in the details screen. Hey, could that be it?

No I don't think so, coz only some of them had selected skills, and others I hadn't bothered doing that.... still confused.....

The amount of skill your kids are born with are based on two things:

1. How much skill the parents have; and
2. Having a school.

So if you breed a master with a master, the child will be born with more skill then if you breed an adept to an adept. Does that make sense? So most likely you are now breeding masters, where as before they were something less then a master.

I don't like that children are born apprentice. They should gain their skills from their breeding and their ability to learn from the level of their parents. But I think it would be way cooler if they had to keep going to the school to become apprentices or even beyond.
