I'm with the majority of posters here -- although I will agree with the sentiment that playing the game is like watching paint dry...if you're bored, you can go do something else and the game will continue to play like the paint continues to dry. You're not supposed to sit and watch paint dry, and you don't need to sit and supervise your little villagers, either.
I like not having to sit in front of a game for hours to play -- I don't tend to have large chunks of free time. But I can micromanage for a few minutes here and there, and then come back to find results later (unlike nearly every other game out there, which requires constant attention -- playing Warcraft III or Myst IV in 10 minute chunks takes months...I haven't had time to finish either, nevermind the lot of other games I've never bothered to finish).
To each his own, but it seems a bit rude to me to log on to a game's forum to announce that no one should ever buy it because it doesn't suit your personal tastes.
IMHO.
