I just saw a red mushroom. Are they better than regular brown mushrooms? They produce more food? There is more kinds?

That is correct - the red mushrooms give you more food points.

Red mushrooms give you 45 food Brown give you 8 but the red ones are rather rare.

I thinkg that ratio is about 7 to 1 for brown:red mushrooms - just ahve to have a child in the right place at the right time to grab it.
