Does watering crops actually do anything, i does not seem to shorten my time till next crops. Any help?

Also, I have had 6 girls, no boy babies yet, what are the odds? I have two more infants, so I am hoping.

Watering the crops does nothing, if you're low on food, put your farmers on fishing (if you have it yet) or foraging. If you have enough food, change them to scientists or builders whatever you need done. I find it best to put my farmers on more useful tasks while waiting for crops and if you need tech points, they'll help accumulate them quickly.

As for babies, seems from other posts in here that there is no rhyme or reason to the sex of the baby. You could be having a great game and suddenly wind up with only one sex of villager and all is lost. Just pure dumb luck. However, it seems that for most players, myself included, it eventually evens out.

On my second try at the game on another computer (nice to ahve two of them - he he), I had mainly boys and hardly any girls. Just need to breed when you can and before you know it, you'll have a full village. If the crops aren't watered, they may die, so you need your farmers to keep doing what they are doing.

Really? Wow, never had crops "die" on me, not that I know of, and I've never watered them (well maybe at night when I'm not looking they do) and I'm sure I read elsewhere that watering does nothing.

Hmm, must be wrong then, cool!

your crops do not die...and watering only occurs before they are grown, once they are grown they will remain there until you harvest them no matter how long that is.

lol... okay, prove me right! I didn't even start this post and I'm getting confused.

Okay, final word... trust the monk! (And I'm not saying that because he agreed with me either). The monk knows all, just trust what the monk has to say. The VIllage Monk and Village Idiot helped me out of many jams, I trust their knowledge.

Finally I had boys, 8 girls, then 2 boys, now all girls again (4 addtional). It does make it easier to have babies.

I did finally get fishing as well.
