As my original villagers are getting on a bit, I have been breeding. However, my village now has a heavily male-biased population. There have been seven births thus far and ALL have been male. I assume that, eventually, the women will reach the 'menopause' and be unable to breed.

Is there anything I can do to redress the balance - my tribe's doomed if a girl isn't born ASAP! The youngest of the original (female) members is now pushing 50.

I really don't want to start over. I've just managed to bestow 'Masters degrees' in construction, agri/aquaculture, science and medicine (the latter with a minor in botany).

Is this a known bug that, sometimes, one sex will be favoured?

Cheers for any help.

No, it's not a bug; it's just how random births work. In real life I have only grandsons and no granddaughters.

There has been a lot of discussion in the forum about that situation ever since Village Sim was released. The gender imbalance usually corrects itself. If you start to get in a real bind, you can always research Medicine tech to prolong the lives of the females that you DO have.

Sacharissa, my original crew of villagers initially produced all girl babies, but I just kept trying and didn't have any problems breeding older females. IIRC, they were having babies in their early 60s, or at least late 50s (for the life of me, I can't remember which, but I know it was fairly old, for a villager).

Good luck!

Actually there is no AGE cut off in this game, One draw back is if a nursing mother dies while nursing so does the babe.

I had the same thing happen. All my villagers were women except two and then my oldest man died. Had to breed that last guy like crazy to get some boys! He didn't seem to mind, tho...LOL
Now I'm waiting for one of the boys to be 18. Stuck at 9 villagers, seven women and two boys. I didn't even notice I had no guys until one of the two died.
That's what makes the game challenging!
