I have about 7 adults And all of them are adept something or other but none of them seem to make it to expets Ive been playing for 4 days whats the deal?

What is your game speed setting? Do you have the preferred skill set for your villagers? They gain skill much better if you set a preferred skill.

yes they each have a set skill. the bars are almost full. and the game is set on 2x durring the day and 1/2 at night. could that be the problem

Could be. They will gain skill more slowly on 1/2 speed. Villagers increase their skill very quickly (to Trainee level) the first few times they perform a task, then more slowly as they become more competent. It takes much more effort to go from Adept to Master.
