I forgot to put the game on normal speed, and I come back to the food supply at 119 and my Tech points at 2830. I also have level 2 Construction.

I have yet to clear up the beach, it seems all the berries have been picked, no one seems to want to work because they're "worried about food", and I'm sort of getting angry, because I don't want to re-start...again.

Is there ANY way to get some more food somewhere before my food supply runs out?

Most people find that the first level of harvesting is a necessary first purchase in order to keep the villagers from starving. It's also wise to keep the population low until you have the farm operational, since berries are the sole food source until the villagers learn to farm.
