I have 47 villagers. Everyone is well and happy. I have level 2 for Construction, Spirituality and Farming.

Should I pay for Level two of Medecine or Fertility? Or keep racking up points to get Level 3 of the others?

Well that depends really. If your low on food, or low on housing then you need more Contruction and Faming.

But presuming your village is comfortable at the moment, then it also depends on whether or not you have alot of disease and not enough healers, or your villagers are getting old and not enough young'ns.

Thats the great thing about the game, you can play it how you want

How in the world can you build to 47 people without being able to fish? I couldn't get past 15 without level 3 farming.

Very slowly and very carefully. If you don't pick all of the berries, they grow back faster. And I really pushed on the research.
