We just want to extend a big WELCOME to all the new Virtual Villagers players who have found their way here.
Regardless of where you bought the game, we love it when people find their way 'home' to us.
Whether you need help with the game, you just want to chat about it, or you want to tell us all the things that we should have done differently, we're very glad that you've joined us!

I have recently bought the game, the Friday advance sale from Big Fish. Great game! Thanks for the guide section that has come in helpful! I am off to read and get some more ideas, although I am not sure that the palm ideas will work for the desktop version. Thanks again!

Thank You for the welcome!! I also tried the 60 minute trial and had to buy the game before it ran up. I have tried many, many trial games before, but this game is the first game that I NEEDED to buy. I couldn't get enough.!!

A few months ago I became hooked on Fish Tycoon (due to the fact that I love fish but my little kitten kept eating them, she can't eat these ones though) that I got from BFG (love that website man...., I have become so unproductive at work due to it). I got an email advertising the advance sale of Virtual Villagers and once I realized it was from LDW, I didn't try it out, I just out right bought. New it would be great at I was right. I can't wait to see where you go with it in the updates.
However, I agree with SweetCaro on one thing, no finale.... should have a finale I think.
Keep up the good work, can't wait for Plant Tycoon to hit Windows in the fall.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm sooo glad there's a forum for this game. I didn't search for help or hints until I had two tribes die. It's completely addictive. Me (43) and my 7 y/o daughter play side by side.

I'd say it's likely that they're messing with the system clock on their computer - something I don't recommend unless you understand all the ramifications of doing that.

I'm glad to finally make it to the forums. Thank you for the manual admission. I have been playing the Palm version of Villagers since the beginning of June. I think I was first in line to get the PC version. I played the demo for about 5 minutes and said "Okay, this is one I can't live without!!" I've got three different villages going now. Thanks for a great game.

My daughter (age 5) and I love the game. She plays on her computer, my son (age 3 1/2) is attempting to play on his (but the villagers keep dying on him), and I have finally finished the game (took 7 days) on my laptop. We were totally hooked!
We also purchased it from Big Fish Games during the presale.

I have only been playing the game for 125 hours, but it is definately ADDICTIVE! I love seeing my tribe grow and grow and solve the puzzles. I hope that 'Virtual Villagers 2' is in the works with more complex puzzles to solve. I would definately buy that one too. Bravo!

Ditto!! I played the Mac Demo for 5 minutes then stopped and baught the full version direct from LDW's purchase link. I love this game. i have it also on my Palm Treo, but i like this PC/Mac version with more puzzles and surprises... better. Also Baught Plant Tycoon for my Palm a few weeks ago after having so much fun with the demo for a few months prior. Keep up the Good work LDW.

I have been playin for about aweek. And we love it. From my 15 year old to my 6 year old. We all have our own village. I have one guuy who just wants to complain and argue. I get up set with him and drop him in the ocean or the lagoon. It seems to cool him off a bit. Where is the log book that tells about them getting hurt? I have looked but can't find it. My village took off and they have maxed the population so I guess I will have to wait til one dies to get the golden child.

I bought the game, too, but I'm a bit concerned - I got the 90 villagers and the puzzles all solved - what next? No exploring? No other parts of the island? If so, I'll be disappointed.

Yeah I cannot recommend it for the length of time you get to play - it was over too fast and no exploration or uses for a lot of the puzzles - like the treasure chest and temple - so I would say - for the money there are a lot of games with a LOT more game time than this one.

they shouldnt die of starvation while you are not watching them then...

That's a puzzle that won't be solved until late in the game, and you will know when it happens!

Population max is 90 unless you have twins or triplets when your pop. is 89, then it could be 91 or 92. I'll PM the school so as not to spoil

when you look at the images of the game on the virtual villagers home page their population is in the hundreds, how do you do that. One image is 300 the other is up to 7 hundred.

Lol, I got that. Suddenly half my villagers were named Atepa. After intensive memory poking, I changed them back to their original names and haven't had the problem since.

I downloaded the trial of VV on Wednesday Aug 9th...Played until my trial expired and instantly went and bought the full version... Needless to say I was instantly addicted and I have been playing it ever since! I currently have 3 villages going at once right now. One Village I titled "Let it run" I do nothing to it but watch, I assigned the jobs and let them go. I just wanted to see what they can do on their own. The other two games I interact with.
Kudos to all of you who worked so hard to create such a fun (addictive) real time game! Can't wait to see more of the VV games...How about in the next one, we get a few islands to choose from for our villagers to inhabit... Maybe each island has different plots/goals?

Just wanted to iterate my thanks to LDW for such a great, addicting game! I have four games running in hopes that I'll get to see some of the "fun" island events. I really enjoy trying different combos of spending tech points, and how many babies to make the villagers have at the beginning. Thanks for such a comprehensive sim game!
Regards, Susan : )

I've been searching for a way to replace Everquest in some way. Something that I could play on my own. Goodness knows EQ taught me patience and to bring something to read while waiting for things to happen, so I'm delighted with VV. It's not buggy, it's so much easier to figure out (for me) than Fish Tycoon, and it's a smaller addiction than the many years of my life I gave to EQ.
I have two games going on. The first one is probably going to result in a lot of deaths. The second one was started after reading a lot of the posts here. It's so nice to read boards that don't have a lot of flaming or fights with staff.
That's about it, I have to go obsessively see what is happening with my village people.

I Love This Game!! I also tried the demo and fell in love. This is the first game I have ever brought. Wanna hear a really sad! story? I hope my sister doesnt read this... I had just set up my pay pal account specifically to purchase this game I was waiting for it all to be finalised. My sister was in labour so I went to the city to be there for it. About 80% of my thought was directed towards getting home to see if the payment went through and start my first game. My goodness! that sounds so bad, but I am not a bad person really. LDW made a winner here. SPECTACULAR!

Thanks Arthur, Here I go, what next? Do anyone gets to build a big hut? 30 to a hut is way close, right? The younger ones worry. I thought to just let them worry to figure something out. Is it possible? Can't nearly wait for the 2nd, you know? Great job for a teaser.

I love this game! I'm pretty obsessive about it too. I have all the puzzels except #15 and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get this one! I'm going crazy, does anyone know? Also, do they go to different areas of the island through the cave, or do they just stay where they are?

I love this game and have been so addicted, but felt a little empty inside with no finale. I worked for so long to get all the puzzles done, then it was just over, nothing major to mark the end. Then the villagers go on like it's no big deal. Maybe you should have made them all go into the cave or something.

The real problem (as I see it), is we get so addicted, no ending would satisfy us. I've played other games that were the same way. Could not put it down. Then I get to the end and boom baam, it's all over. Then the program will ask you, "Do You Want To Start A New Game?" At least with VV, you can keep playing, if you know what I mean?

I played the evaluation game at Real Arcade and was hooked, it took forever to be available to buy,but as soon as it was I had to have it! I can't wait for the sequel, I too was dissappointed with the ending, I can't believe I finally moved the boulder and nothing there. At the beginging I must say I had my doubts about moving the boulder and finding some kind of beast the formers left locked up!

Bought the game and love everything except the end. Since I see eyes behind the boulder and one of my villagers found scrolls and disappeared through a secret path, I assume that there will be more to come. If so, when?

I got it at the weekend and bought it as soon as the trial period ran out. I just had to see how the game developed! I'm completely hooked now. In my first game they all died, alas. I think I left them too long without checking what was going on, and without making sure they had large enough stockpiles of food. I'm playing my second game now and loving it!

I love this game.... I'm so addicted, I have 2 going at one time now...
However, I have a question.... my oldest villager is 40, and I have 90 people... you think this is going to cause problems later? Like everyone being to old to breed by the time the 40 year old kicks it?
