I know it's been 14-ish (!!!) years since Virtual Families 2 came out. It started as a mobile game and got ported to the PC. In the beginning both versions were equal but over time the mobile version got prioritized while the PC version stopped getting updated. The OG developers said that this difference was a consequence of PC games becoming less profitable compared to mobile games.
http://www.ldwforums.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=243456#Post243456It's unfortunately true that the mobile game industry makes millions and billions of dollars each year while the casual PC game industry (at least the market that LDW inhabits) has declined significantly. And it was also true that Virtual Families 2 mobile quite literally saved LDW from closure. I know everyone's focusing on developing Virtual Families 3 and A New Home on mobile, but to my knowledge, the PC version of Virtual Families 2 is the only PC game that's not up-to-date with its mobile version.
It's lacking some backyard furniture like the brick patios and the exclusive Christmas/Thanksgiving decor and ornament collection. Also the party decorations and banner. For the ultimate completionists both versions are missing the Holiday Pajama outfits hidden within the mobile version.
It would be a dream to get Virtual Families 2 PC up-to-date with its mobile version. Back in 2014 LDW updated all their PC games to the latest Windows and Mac versions. Even though they no longer made money from them and ultimately made them free in 2021-2023, to quote LadyCFII, "it was the right thing to do for our loyal fans". Won't you do the same and add the things we're missing? Surely times have changed now, and there is enough capital to create one final update for Virtual Families 2 PC. I believe it would be a good send-off to such a beloved game. One that made me devoted to LDW.
NO ADS OR MICROTRANSACTIONS PLEASE. We don't need that in our desktop games.
To anyone who's reading this, what other games need an update and why?
