This part of your comment made me feel wistful.. Thinking of the beautiful art in games like Virtual Villagers 3, or Plant Tycoon. Every single detail had thought put into it. I could for hours just watch my plants getting hit by the rays of sun, or go to the main menu and get lost in the oil-painted garden, or go to nursery and look at the liminal green fields far-away while customers are enjoying the ornaments around the nursery. Newer games just look very generic with their art, as if some people just got comissioned to make an island-village-sim (which seems to be the case actually). I am glad that at least we still have the originals to play and immerse in.
