Hello, I'm a longtime player of your games and I've always enjoyed them. However, today I found out that you are using AI-generated imagery for your newest mobile games. While I understand that it may be a more economically feasible option nowadays, as opposed to traditional digital art, I'm still concerned about the quality of your future game graphics. Up to this point, you have always provided the players with charming, hand-drawn pictures and textures, and it just won't be the same with AI images. Artificially generated imagery, no matter how advanced the technology is, just feels cheap, dissatisfying and devoid of human touch. While most of the young children playing your games these days may not notice, many longtime LDW fans (such as myself) might feel somewhat disappointed upon finding that the lovely, hand-drawn art has been replaced with AI.

Not to mention that image-generating AI models take advantage of artists in some unethical ways, such as literally stealing their art which they have often worked hard to create, or taking graphic designers' jobs. Many actual artists are complaining about these issues on social media worldwide. I'm not interested in supporting unethical machine learning companies by choosing products that contain AI-generated pictures.

In short, please keep making real games with real art, if possible.

Hi Flizia!

Thank you for your feedback on our marketing (of which App Store and Google Play Store icons are a part)!

We only use AI-generated art in our marketing, and not the games themselves. This allows us to create unique images that aren't necessarily possible through conventional methods. Additionally, we've received overwhelmingly positive feedback on the newest store icons from our players, new and old alike!

I've passed your feedback along to our marketing team, and we hope you continue to enjoy our games!

I agree Flizia. The AI-generated art looks terrible. Whoever is in charge of making them clearly doesn’t care what they’re advertising for, because they’re wildly misleading. I’ve seen ads for Virtual Villagers that use Animal Crossing (from Nintendo!) villagers, or Native American tribes, and even a pagoda/those Japanese archways - forgive me if I say something wrong or inaccurate.
What I mean is that the ads don’t remotely show anything resembling their games. Even Gardenscapes shows ads using their own characters, and they’re notorious for misleading ads. At least make the App Icons use the old, handmade art - they’re 10000X better than any AI, and unique! It’s pretty clear that making quality games is starting to become an afterthought.

(By the way, every feedback I’ve seen about the AI use has been negative. Just search it up on Google!)
