I don't fertilize any of my existing plants to create hybrids. They just pop up on their own, then I use the fertilizer on the hybrid. I use the level 4 fertilizer because it works on all hybrids.

The first visitor I ever got was the plant vendor. I've had him 2 or 3 times now.
