I have a checkerboard pattern but also some in random arrangements. Nothing seems to promote hybrids.
It's quite frustrating I haven't had hybrids for maybe two weeks now.

I don't know if this affects the breeding. Maybe I try it and catch no bugs for a day

I plant my flowers in groups of five. It has worked out pretty good for me for getting hybrid flowers. So far I have gotten, 1 Blue Flower Lemon Grass, 2 Daisy Lemon Bush (I donated 1), 2 Blue Rose Rose Bush (I donated 1)

My hybrids just took off! I planted them east of the southern lake, between the house and the lake, and I've been getting six or eight a day for a few days now! Groups of two and then a space (as well as a space above and below) worked best. I only need six more to complete the collection!
I thought I'd never get any more. It had really stalled.

Glad you're getting some hybrids, tygerkittn! Mine are still going strong, but I've had more common hybrids instead of rare for the last few days. I only need 2 (or maybe 3) more plants to complete my collection, so I hope the rare ones come back!
