This mayor was the result of picking through a series of potentials (remember the first thing you did in the game?), not an adoptee taking over from a previous mayor, although if I'd seen her as a 4 year old I would have snapped her up then as well. But isn't she awesome? Nice looking face and hair, cute outfit right out of the box, doesn't like orange which I TOTALLY understand, scared of jumping spiders - who isn't?!?, and look at those speed and charm bars!

I picked my first mayor because he had high speed and charm bars, plus his name is HollyWood, which is just awesome. He's getting older so he'll be retiring soon, which makes me sad...lol. I picked my adopted kid because he had no phobias. I don't remember any of his other details, because that was good enough for me.

For phobias, I usually look for None, or Fog (haven't seen fog yet), or Empty Room, but Petal was so great otherwise...

I did change her name.

I didn't know you could change the name. I like The name Petal. I also look for speed and then charm.

Changing your mayor's name is pretty easy. Tap to expand your Inventory, then tap your mayor's name beneath their full length portrait. This will open their Details Screen. Tap their name on the Details Screen and a keyboard will come up. Edit/change your mayor's name, tap "Done" when you've finished, tap the X in the upper-right corner of the Details Screen and voila, your mayor has a new name.

Yeah, but you have to wait until your adoptee ascends to the Mayoral Desk to change his or her name unless you change it during the adoption process. And you're stuck with Soonie and Soony and Bashette or is it Bassinette and Green and Valley and whatever else your peeps are named, although Valley is a pretty awesome name.

She is an awesome mayor, I would have taken her, too. I can't believe how high those bars are! Did your old mayor retire to the Island without an heir? Is that how you got to pick again?
