Does anyone now what the blackberry plant is for? I was give the seed, I planted iPad now harvested it so it won't get consumed. Also I thought I read somewhere that if you plant certain plants near each other they will produce a new plant. Is that true?if so how do I get them to make a new plant?

Are you sure that it's a blackberry plant? Depending upon who gave the seed to you, it might be part of the quest to find out what happened to the town and learn more about its story. You might try to pick it and see if and see if anyone wants it.

If a peep who lives in town gave you a seed called "Blackberry Ananas" during exchange of favors, it's a flower and you can enjoy it as such or donate it to the museum. Since you said "blackberry" I assumed that was part of the name. The peeps won't eat it since they prefer apples, pears, and oranges. As Barbara the Unicorn said, there are also conditions where you might get various items (including flowers) as part of a quest and you need to find out who wants the item.

I'm still clueless as to how hybrids are bred but I plant my flowers in a pattern that puts dissimilar plants next to each other left to right, with some space front and back so hybrids can spawn. I've gotten Daisy Lemongrass and Blue Flower something that way.

BTW, although a peep did give me a rare seed once-and-only-once, my peeps generally seem to think the mayor needs a HUGE lemon maranta garden, based on what they give me for favors. Pah.

The gear/part was delivered I gave it the shop keeper. But I missed what he said.
Any idea how I can find out what he said? There is no reference anywhere else in the game

So if I plant my plants alternating different species, a new species will grow or will someone give me a seed??

I've been playing for awhile and on my second mayor. I've yet to breed new plants, but all my plants are planted in similar groups.

I did have access to new plants, but not as a result of the plants I have already.

If you plant different plants all together, a new type of plant will begin to grow smile I've only had one occurrence, but the plant that springs to life may be rare, so don't forget to buy fertilizer! If you're interested in knowing which fertlizers go with which plant, this post can aid you grin

Thank you! I moved some plants around today and left an open hole next to each.

Do you think that the butterflies, bees, and lady bugs contribute to pollination in the game? I tend to not catch those, but will catch spiders and other bugs in the garden area.

Hmm, I'm not sure. I'd lean more towards that they are for the museum's collection rather than serving as a function for growing plants, but I could be mistaken!

I tend to leave the butterflies, bees and ladybug because they make the garden more realistic. I have already donated one of each to the museum and I sell the other bugs.

I hadn't thought of leaving holes, ladybugs, butterflies and bees as possible ways to increase plant spawn. I get some spawning without leaving holes and with fairly diligent bug harvesting for coins. However, I don't get enough spawns for my tastes, so I should experiment with the idea. I know that at least one of those actions has positive effects, but it's not related to plant spawn. At least one of those actions has negative effects unrelated to plant spawn, too, so be careful out there!

I donated the blackberry plant to the museum but now I regret as I now wonder if I left it in the garden it might have cross pollinated. Thank you Nora for the link

Hi scalad, can you tell me the outcome of when you donated the blackberry plant? I donated mine also, but it all went so fast...
Click to reveal..
I left off where the curator walked me to a spot south of the garden area and I pressed too fast to see what he said. I planted a flower to mark the spot he spoke about but I didn't get any further in this event.

I can tell by your spoiler that you and scalad are talking about different things.
Click to reveal..
You gave the curator a Legendary Black Orchid. I know because that is the action that causes the curator to walk you out to a spot on the south side.

Scalad had a normal, albeit rare, flower called a Blackberry Ananas. You probably aren't going to see one of those for a while. However, it is just a flower, and went into the Museum as an exhibit.

I'm going to address your question: what was the outcome of giving the flower you had to the curator?
Click to reveal..
You gave Ronald the Legendary Black Orchid and he walked you out to a spot near a big rock and the South River. He had you dig up a dirt mound, and you found a paper, which I refer to below as "the thing I mentioned". Either you successfully gave it to him or it's still in your inventory. See the next spoiler-marked bits to tell what to do next.

I think you were successful. If so, this is what happened:
Click to reveal..
Ronald read the note. It moves the story line along but does not require any further action from you. There are some things that don't happen in the game until this sub-plot is finished. I will tell you what the note said in a PM if you are curious.

On the other hand, if you were not successful, then you still have the thing I mentioned in your inventory. You need to give it to the curator. Here is how you can tell for sure:
Click to reveal..
Walk north to the River, near the old bridge. It doesn't need to be finished. Look across the river to the trees. Do you see something colorful in one of the trees? That doesn't happen until you've finished the Legendary Black Orchid sub plot. There are other things that don't happen but this is a good marker. If you have the colorful thing, PM me and I will tell you what Ronald the curator said.

How do you move an object outside of your house? I accidentally placed a flower that was in a pot that I bought from a mysterious stranger in the botanical garden but now I can't remove it

If you click on the plant/flower, you should get the choice to Take or Cancel. Once you take it it goes into your inventory.

Sorry but that didn't work. I get because it's in a pot and classed as a decoration you can't move it

That sounds like it is a Town Upgrade. You said you got it from a mysterious stranger in the Botanical Garden - did you buy it from a guy named Cuthbert Gibbs who was in a tent in Town Square? Does it look like the picture below? If so, it is a Town Upgrade and you will have to demolish it and re-purchase it to move it to another location.

You can buy a Demolition Order in the Tools section of the General Store. Put your mayor next to the item, tap on the Demolition Order, and follow the screen prompts. This will destroy the item and it will be gone. If you want another one you will need to buy it. Go to Town Hall, sit at your desk, tap on the Town icon. The Flower Pot is in the last category.

Hmm. I'm going to have to try this, too! I haven't had many plants spawn recently, and I want more to appear. The other thing I will try to do is spread the flowers in my botanical garden out a little, so there's room for others to spawn, since I read that if your plants are just a little spread out, you will get more plant spawns.

It actually seems to be working! I got 3 more plants to spawn in the botanical garden (though this could be because I spaced it out) and I got one to spawn in my mini-garden is located in the Northern Lands. Since my mini-garden was already spaced out, I'm pretty sure that this was the cause of that plant spawn.
