That's perfectly OK, especially when your little persons are at the start of their careers, and don't earn much money. Each time they complete a work cycle they will get paid a small fraction of their daily wage as a bonus. I'm not sure, but I think it's 1%. Therefore if they are only earning something like 50 coins a day, they would get a bonus of half a coin. Since the bank shows only whole numbers, the fraction is carried forward until they complete a work cycle which takes them up to a whole coin, which then shows in your bank.
The daily wages are paid in (I think) hourly payments. Although you might hear a 'ching' noise there isn't any message to let you know it has been paid.
