The game guide states that once you unblock the mauseoleum that the heathens will leave it no matter the condition of the blocking totem. I unblocked the mauseoleum first thing and the heathens immediately began burying it again.

The guide was written, edited and sent to the art team before the game was complete, so there are a few minor errors in it. Our apologies!
