A little explanation is in order, though. All of our games that feature player selectable peeps (whether villagers or family members) will, by default, accept the currently displayed selection if the game is closed while the selection screen is open. That's normal (although maybe not the most desirable way to do it). The other things you describe are not normal, and we'll check those out.
