I think stomping ants is just another random action they do.
As for the children... the only reasons I can think of is they weren't getting enough food or they were sick for too long. Did you happen to not check on them for a long time, and when you came back they died? Did you notice any of them with a status of "a bit weak" or "weak" before they died? (Not right before, but earlier.)

Like adults, children in Virtual Families can have serious illnesses (often discovered by use of the Doctor's Consultation) that can make everything seem normal other than the fact that they get sick often. This means that even though they might not be sick all the time, they might still have an illness.

As txmom2 says, "a bit weak" or "weak" (or even "extremely weak") is a good indication that something is wrong, especially if the house is stocked with plenty of food. Good luck! smile

My other question was: What are they doing when they stomp ants??? ...thank you

I do the same thing every night::just before bed I fed them checking on each one to see if there are any problems.Once fed i put them all to bed, watch them for awhile and closing the game so they will get their rest..This morning as usually I check on them to feed them and found 2 kids dead..no one was sick the night before..I dont know what happened..very sad.. maybe they got sick during the night,I didnt get the chance to help them begore they died..Thanks for your help..(PS..since then everyone in the house has been depressed, and not food, fruit, praises, tapes or anything i do has help..so i just hope for them to leave for school..I think we should be able to help them...) this has been going on for over 8hrs..thanks again

That seems very bizarre. I have no idea why that would happen, but my best guess would be they got sick overnight. That is really sad.
It might take a while for your peeps to cheer up (haven't been in that situation for a while so I have no idea how long), but if you keep taking good care of them they should start feeling better eventually.

Txmom2 answered your stomping ants question in her previous post. It is a random action.

Unless you use a doctor's consultation on each person (which can get a bit pricey) it's still possible they had a serious illness.

When you state that you fed them... did you stock the house with food, or did you simply have them prepare a meal? If there is not enough food to last overnight (with or without preparing a meal), there is the possibility that they can starve, especially if you do not pause the game.

Hi babylocks. Your peeps sure sound like they're having a rough time of it. frown

I must admit that there have been a couple of times where I meant to check the refrigerator to make sure I had at least 500 food in there for the night and realized when I opened the game in the morning that I'd forgotten. shocked The peeps were starving, extremely weak and took almost 2 days to fully recover. cry There must always be food in the refrigerator.

You can keep an eye on a peeps health by looking at their Health Status bar by clicking the Detail button. If it's 3/4 full and your peep was recently ill and cured then the bar should start filling back up. If it's 1/2 full and they were recently sick and cured give them some hand sanitizer, fruit, etc to increase their health and check them again within 30 minutes. (You can do a Doctors Consultation if you want.)

If you don't see a good improvement then they may have an infection that requires 1 or more medications. This is where you really need a Doctors Consultation. Pay close attention to the information in the Dr. Consult. A peep's status may no longer say "Sick" after giving them just one of the medications listed on the Consult. However, they will not be completely cured and their health will continue to decline unless you give them ALL of the required medications.

How are they doing money-wise? Do you have enough saved for Doctor Consultations if they become necessary?

Good luck! Here's wishing a healthy future for your peeps (a nickname for my little virtual family members). smile
