I've been trying to make some modifications in my VV5 game, but for some reason, even though I save or copy the image to the appropriate folder, when I open the game later, the changes won't show.

I got a new laptop & my games were downloaded from scratch using my old emailed confirmations - which is fine since I didn't really care if I saved my games from my last computer. When I copied the mods into my VV4, VV3 & VF games they came right up when I opened them.

It's only VV5 that won't show the changes. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi petenpete, Try checking the game's image folder and view the modded image to verify that it's actually there. Also, have you tried this ?

Sometimes programs make png files PNG files, and that could be causing the issue as well.

Good luck! smile
Same goes for jpg, jpeg and JPG. Good luck! smile

Thanks, Miss Kathy. I do have Windows 7 on my laptop and I found the compatibibility folder & VirtualStore where my mod files ended up. I was able to delete them from the images folder and the mods folder. THEN, I copied the file attachment (from the mods thread) into my mods folder. If for some reason copying from the forum as an attachment causes it to change its file name to ubb thread or something like that, I would go back into the mod folder and change it to the correct name. THEN I would copy the file from my mod folder and into my image folder. THAT worked. :-) Have a good one!

Great petenpete! I'm glad your mods are working now! Yes, when game maps and png files are individually uploaded then when the image is saved to a computer it's being saved as ubbthreads.php.jpg or ubbthreads.php.png. Therefore each image will have to be renamed before it can be used in the game. However, if files with the correct names are zipped up first, the names are preserved and no renaming is necessary. smile
