I downloaded a bathroom mod, and the file contains maps showing the bathroom in combination with mods of other rooms on the same theme that the creator made. I only want to install the bathroom mods. Should I include the maps when I install or not?

Hello Oreocreme. Sometimes the modders will put a new mod on an original map so that the only room that changes is the new room, what I call a "stand alone" mod. Other times they mod multiple rooms and upload them as a bundle. Installing mods will replace your current maps and you may end up having mismatched rooms by not installing all of the maps in the bundle. Which bathroom mod are you referring to? Perhaps there's a "stand alone" available somewhere.

Always make sure you have a backup copy of your games original images and of any mods you're using and don't want to lose.

I am talking about Bayou Blonde's Tropical Escape bathroom. There are some maps that are clearly combos, but there is also a map that looks like the original, except you can see a plant in the corner of the bedroom. She said there was a default map included, but I am just not really sure if I can use the one I think she intended as a default.

If you downloaded the zip files from here, in the folder called Island Bathroom 2 is another folder called "with Taupe LR Cheerful Children". Open that folder and you will find the modded bathroom MapX1Y1 with the original bedroom with no plant, laundry and workshop. smile

O.K. I installed and everything seemed fine, until I discovered that I didn't install an X2Y1 map with the original surrounding rooms. I can't seem to find one of those. Now that I better understand what to look for, I am going to feel pretty sheepish if there is one and I didn't see THAT, either. I think it will be fairly easy if I have to make my own, but I don't want to if I don't have to.

I looked in the folders that I had and didn't see one. I did find one in "Ziaw Combo 2" here. However, you are right and it would be fairly easy to make your own. Give it a try! You may fall in love with modding and merging mods! laugh

And, once again, I thank you, Miss Kathy. You have been a lifesaver (well, maybe that is a bit dramatic...). I am not really anxious to get into modding. I have been a skinner for The Sims for a long time and have taken sort of a break from that, and I am not really looking to replace it with anything at the moment.

The bathroom looks great. Bryce will be very surprised when he comes home from college to take over the house and sees that his mother did some radical bathroom remodeling once her boys moved out! So, as my family members often say in their emails, thanks for all your help, again!
