Hi there. Look this is my first post and I hope this is not an inappropriate location. If it is I apologise in advance.

I just thought I would drop in. I have been meaning to do so for some time now and I'm glad that I finally got around to it. I just thought I would ask if there are any plans to return to the Fish/Plant Tycoon franchise?

Im sure this is not an unremarkable question but the reason I ask is not so much for me but for my mum oddly enough. She loves puzzle games and both the Tycoon games have been her favourites so far. Sadly the Virtual villagers series alienated her somewhat when it crossed a line of complexity which would have appealed to many prospective gamers.

I just feel like these two games are the supremely clever when all other puzzle games these days are mundane. Mum mostly plays those stupid crystal smashing affairs now and while she makes do I know fullwell that her intellect is wasted on that type of thing.

Gone are the days of the clever puzzle games and it is an absolute crying shame. If developers today made the like of The Logical Journey of the Zoombinis or Museum Madness then I guess that they wouldn't sell in this Call of Duty world we now live in. I don't believe that we should accept it because games started out being clever and there is no reason that they should all become dumb.

Regardless I just thought that I would drop by and say cheers for some great intelligent games. If you were in the future to produce another game like Fish/Plant Tycoon I would buy it immediately and I would hope others would too.

Regards
IPYF

I absolutely agree with you. VirtualVillagers is an AWESOME game but I miss Fish Tycoon and Plant Tycoon. Fish Tycoon was the first LDW game I played and thats what got me hooked. After completing the game 5 times I wanted to find some other non-violent game to play and that game was Plant Tycoon. Plant Tycoon makes me happy because I have no back or front yard and no balcony to grow real plants. Even though these plants are in cyber space I feel that they are true living creatures I can take care of. Plus the music was beautiful. If I had a bad day at school I would listen to the music and it would calm me down and make feel better. I wish that some time in the future LDW will return to Fish Tycoon and Plant Tycoon

LDW doesn't usually announce their plans for new games. There's a new "mystery" game on the previews page but we don't yet know any more details. Progress has also been stuck at the same point for several months, so, other than "2011", we've no idea when it will be released.
