I have been trying to figure out how to help my peeps live longer. I succeeded in getting one guy to live to age 68 by using hand gel, vitamins, and fruit to keep his health bar really high. I tried it again with a woman who was one of the first pair of twins born in my game, so I was sort of fond of her. She was 65, and I had her health bar completely maxed out with healthy store items and exercise, but she died anyway. What determines when peeps die, and is there really anything we can do to delay it?

I also am having this problem, so I may not have the best advice, lol. I know that encouraging healthy behaviors like stretching, quick workout, exercising outside, and checking weight add to their health, and therefore, I would assume, add to their life expectancy. Other than that, sounds like you're doing everything right. Maybe they just aren't meant to live very long.

This post from another player has good tips, and much of the thread itself has information that you may find interesting. smile

So what I am guessing from the comments on the other thread is that the game decides when they are going to die, and you can only influence it by 1-3 years if you are giving them healthy products from the store and encouraging healthy behaviors.

I might also mention that now that they can afford it, I no longer buy anything but organic foods. That doesn't seem to have had any effect on life expectancy either, but they don't seem to get serious infections anymore. The most we seem to get are rashes, hiccups, and stomach aches.

I think when you've just started a game the peeps tend to live less long, only up to their mid-50s or so. As the generations go on they get more money and they are therefore better fed, and the player is likely to buy items like the hand gel and vitamins that probably they couldn't afford before. The age at which most peeps die tends to go up by ten years or so accordingly.
