I chose Adelaide to inherit the house when she was 24 years old. I waited for the first proposal, wanted her to have a blonde husband. I waited....and waited. She's now 41, and no proposal in all this time. None. Not one! We'll accept any takers at this point, haha. Not fussy anymore. Is this a glitch? Is there anything I can do? This doesn't seem like normal game behavior.

Can you adopt a kid while single in VF? That might be an option.

Yoiks! I just noticed it says she has 5 children! Even tho there's no one else in the house, or in the list.
Its version 1.00.05 Lady. Oh, I hope I don't have to start over, this family has come so far.

You should not have to start over, but I would advise you to back up your savegame files before you do anything else (as a precaution).

I suspected that you actually had 30 generations, which is why I asked about your game version. There is a bug in some versions of Virtual Families (that you can read about here) that causes what you described. Fortunately, that bug was fixed, and you can see how to get the updated version in Arthur's announcement post. Installing 1.00.09 should take care of the problems you're having, as you can see from this discussion.

Oh, I'm so glad! It worked. Adelaide is now 25, with no children. I did lose the display of the first family, but thats small stuff..I'll still know its a many generation family. Thank you so much for your help.

oh thats what happened to me too...u can erase my last topic....hope i can install it correctly..was wondering why i had to keep deleting my old families....will it save the previous generations???

It will correct any problems with the generations in existing games.

actually it says udate avail next to my game button, but says if i download the update i will lose any progress made in this game including scores and levels??? i dont want to start over
